When selecting an urn for a deceased pet based on the animal's live weight,
a common rule of thumb is to allow 1 cubic inch of space for every pound of the pet's live weight.
For example:
if your pet weighed 50 pounds, you'd want to select an urn with a volume of at least 50 cubic inches.

It's IMPORTANT to note that this guideline applies specifically to processed ashes (the fine fraction).
Unprocessed ashes take up significantly more volume, so if that applies to your situation, you may need a LARGER urn.
